About this Talk

Approximately 25% of human infertility is unexplained. That means that both partners check out fine, yet the infertility persists. One good feature about evaluating men for infertility is that you can really "poke" around sperm and look at them in detail, both molecularly and genetically. Based on our recent research and that of others, taking a "deeper dive" into sperm can reveal problems such as DNA fragmentation and epigenetic issues that can explain the unexplained infertility. Likewise, if nothing is found, there is good evidence that men are not the reason for couple infertility.
