About this Talk
My talk will review how overt hypothyroidism can lead to infertility, miscarriage, and adverse obstetrical and neurodevelopmental outcomes. I will discuss the common definition of subclinical hypothyroidism and when patients trying to conceive should be treated. I will analyze how TPO antibodies during pregnancy have been associated with miscarriage, preterm birth, and adverse perinatal outcomes, although evidence supporting the relationship between TSH levels or anti-TPO antibodies is lacking.
