The Psychological and Social Aspects of Male Infertility
A Talk by Shannon Herman LMFT (Center for Fertility Support)
About this Talk
The topic of psychological and social aspects of male infertility is important to touch on because most fertility counseling is thought to focus on women and their mental healthy during this journey. During the infertility journey males go through a great amount of negative social interactions which can increase their odds of having higher depression and anxiety. They feel that they have lost their "masculinity" which can reduce their self esteem and feeling of confidence. It is important for men to have support during the journey just as much as it is for the women to have her own social support network.
